Gina was born on August 26th, 1981 in Connecticut. At six weeks old Gina and her family moved to Irian Jaya, (New Guinea). At the age of two, her family moved to St. Mary's, a Yu'pik Eskimo Village in Western Alaska. That is where she had most of her schooling, from pre school through high school. Her studies included the Yu'pik language and traditional Eskimo crafts. She returned to Connecticut after
graduating from high school to continue her education at Eastern Connecticut State University.
